i miss this

i miss this. i miss my little blogging world. i miss the ritual of putting a little piece of me out into the world every week. even if no one was ever looking or reading i still enjoyed the process. the expectation of blogging multiple times a week became almost an impossible feat with so much happening in my life. and now that things have slowed down i am finally able to put my focus into some of the small things that got left by the wayside in those busy months. I know that this quiet time will soon be replaced with the craziness of fall but i will do my best to keep some sort of presence here.

So what have i been up to this summer? Honestly,  a little bit of everything! I just got back from my first real vacation in 2 years and let me tell you, it was unbelievable! I have been laying by the pool, cooking, drinking wine, celebrating birthdays, and even letting myself be a little lazy...shocking i know! Pretty much living the dream, and i can't remember a time i have been this calm and happy! So far one of the best summer's and it's only getting better and better! Some more amazingness planned and with time flying by students will soon be back on campus and my calm life will go back to crazy. I admit i am enjoying all this down time but i kinda of can't wait for the buzz of fall, a new school year, football, and events galore. But no more of that talk. Here are some pics from the summer so far!

done and done

I have been waiting for this day for a long time. the day that i would check off my last event of this  very busy season. In the last month and a half i have had 16 different events. From big ones to little ones and everything in between. Most of them work events, but a good handful of personal/ business events as well. And to be honest i am a ittle worn out. Last night i had a dinner party and this marked my last event for a few weeks. I am so excited to have a bit of a break and i even go on vacation in a few weeks! The prospect of have a normal week where im not home late or working on some project and having my routine back is so exciting to me i can't even handle it.

I love what i do but i am excited to have a chance to get things back in order. My house is a disaster zone, along with my car, and office...time to organize and regroup and get myself back together and prepared because as scary as it sounds fall will be here before we know it and that season is so much more exhausting then spring.

so heres to summer, and maybe even a few more blog posts here and there :) for now i will catch you up on what i have been up to the last month and a half!

how on earth did we make it to May?! let alone mid May already! Is anyone else wondering where on EARTH this year is going? I honestly feel like we just had christmas and now we are gearing up for graduation. The past month has been insane. I.N.S.A.N.E. My calendar is covered in orange boxes meaning tons of work events along with some pink boxes, business events, and also a couple yellow boxes, Holidays/special personal occasions (i like to color code). I have honestly just been buzzing through life and realized today that i haven't even made it onto blogger this last month! shame on me. But i figured it was time for a catch up! So much has been going on and most of pretty boring to the rest of the world. But here is what i have been up to!

remember when i used to blog?

this has been a weird year. some of the things that used to be apart of my everyday routine are no longer apart of my routine. and some of those habits are better left by the wayside but some of the habits, like this blog, i wish were sill apart of my daily routine. I miss coming here and rambling on about things that probably one even cared to read about but regardless i do miss the little blog world i created. I barely even have time to keep up with my long list blogs that i love reading! I have finally come to terms with the fact that i am no longer going to be blogging daily or even multiple times a weeks. However, i am aiming to not be silent forever. I still want to share what i am up to and the different events i am working on.

So today you get to see some of the detail pictures from a work event that happened last month. Leah Banick Photography did a great job with our photobooth and even got a couple shots of the room and our fun dessert bar. Take a look!

Over all i am so happy with how this event turned out. It was a huge learning experience for me but i think it might be one of my favorite events to be involved in at my day job.

Hope you have a simply wonderful Wednesday.

my must have beauty products

One of my monthly splurges is subscribing to two different beauty sample services,  Birchbox, and Ipsy. Each month i get a variety of different beauty products, from hair products, make-up, fragrance samples and much more. A lot of them are fun to try but I never end up ever ordering a full size. However, there are now a handfull of things that I have discovered through these subscriptions and still a handfull of things that have just always been staples in my beauty drawer. I love seeing what other people use and swear by so i figured i would share my absolute must haves when it comes to the basics of my beauty products.

1. Pixi- Flawless & Poreless: the BB cream/ face primers are everywhere right now and i have been lucky to be able to sample a lot of them. However some of the AMazing ones are $40-60 for a little tube and that is a little out of my price range. This one works just as well but at a fraction of the cost. $29

2. My go to lotion is Vaselines Coco Butter: Its the perfect after shower lotion and doesn't feel sticky or greasy. And its a bargin at $9

3. Beauty Blend: i am obsessed with these foundation sponges. the shape is perfect and they last FOREVER. $25

4. Mary Kay Eye Primer: this stuff will ensure that the nasty crease you get after a long day at work doesn't exist. and bonus it also lasts forever, a little goes a long way $14

5. Renewal Skin Oil: For those stubborn dry spots or just to have your skin feeling super hydrated this stuff will totally rock your world. I like to use it before bed so it has all night to soak in $16

6. Origins Clear Improvement: this is one my my newest obsessions. this mask is AMAZing. You can see and feel the difference after one use. Its a little pricy but totally worth it $25

7. Bombshell eyeliner: I was always a huge fan of the gel eyeliners but this just simplified everything for me. no need for a brush and i can do a super thin line or super thick and its super easy to control $16

i really do not think i could live without these basics anymore. they make make up look better, my skin look WAY better, and keep me feeling good :) what are your favorite products?

Hope you have a simply FABulous Tuesday!
