cinta turns 2!

2?! I honestly have no idea how Cinta Dinners has officially been happening for over 2 years now. Granted I have been doing dinner parties and planning for over 4 years now. But being an official tax paying business is something that I am proud of. This business is something I truly am proud of. This last year was off to a fantastic start. We were averaging at least 1 to 2 dinners a month. And that was a perfect amount considering I have a full time job and Jereme was still in school and working another job as well. When we approached summer we got the amazing news that my business partner Jereme would be off to Thailand to teach for the next year. I was so excited for her and such a fantastic opportunity. However, the way Cinta looked would not be the same without her. I stopped really pushing for dinners but was more then happy to do them when asked. With her decision to stay another year I am truly saddened but know that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and Cinta will always be here when she returns.

Now that we are into the next year Cinta Dinners is now evolving into Cinta Events. A complete redesign of the website, business cards, and all materials is happening. I know I have been talking about this redesign for months now but I truly do not want to go public with things until I am absolutely in love with every aspect. I will still be doing dinner parties, but really want to shift my focus to event and wedding coordination. It is truly my passion and love. I am excited for what opportunities are to come in the next few years. I will still be working a full time job to pay the bills but I do have an ultimate goal of being my own sole boss someday. And someday that will happen. But for now I keep trucking along and gaining the experience and hands on work that comes with this industry.

things that made me excited this weekend

this weekend/ yesterday has been hectic to say the least! the weekend was full of dinner prep an errands and an endless to do list. And yesterday was crazy at work then off to the dinner party. Thankfully the dust is starting to settle and I got through my first dinner party without my beloved jereme. I however did have a Kevin's saving grace to come cook for me. Even though it was a crazy weekend it didn't come without a little excitement.

So here is whats been exciting the last few days.

Phew! We made it to FRIDAY!!! I'm not sure what i'll be doing this weekend but hopefully the sun will stick around to make everything that much better :) Time for the blanks! Link up yourself at Little Things We Do!

1. The last thing I ate was homemade coffee cake that I got up at 6 to bake and bring into work :) don’t worry this like never happens.

2. The next thing I'd like to eat is Salmon…im obsessed with Salmon right now..a good BBQ salmon sounds AMAZING!

3. The best things are the simply things in life. Fresh cut flowers, country drives, coffee with good friends, dinner parties, kind words and walks by the river front...

4. Something that makes me supremely and utterly happy is someone loving a dinner party I’ve put on personally or one our business has put on..I have put so much into it and am very proud of it. So nice to hear people enjoy the dinners.

5. Sports are something that have kind of grown on me. Never growing up with sports being the center of anything I quickly learned sports are a big deal when you go to a division 1 school. Helllloooo BEAVER football and my personal favorite gymnastics :) My girls always make mamma proud! Go BEAVS!

6. I miss a friend who lives far a way..i wish plane tickets weren’t so expensive. And i miss a friend whos lives in the same town.

7. Right now I am just trying to get through the day, Friday’s at work can never go fast enough .

Wait...its Monday??

Wow. umm hello and good bye weekend! I pretty much blinked and now its monday. Anyone else have a hectic weekend? It was a fun filled weekend but I do admit i'm glad its over. Friday nite we celebrated the 21st birthday of a friend! Always fun! Saturday i was up at 6am running errands and getting things ready for Matthew's recital on Sunday. We had a Graduation BBQ on Saturday afternoon, and i came home and started the baking marathon i had that carried into Sunday morning as well. Then sunday afternoon was set up time for the concert reception, followed by the concert, then the work of the reception. It all turned out great and sadly i don't have time to find all the pictures of the reception. but i promise pics will come! I'm really happy with how my dessert table turned out. Super cute!

This picture is kind of fitting for life at the moment..except im not eating the desserts im just making millions of them..haha

And as for today. Today i am finally focusing my attention to the dinner party for 37 people i have tomorrow night. Sigh...talk about a little bit stressful. I usually have the weekend before a dinner to really focus and get my ideas and thoughts in order but i have 24 hours to do it this time. And did i mention i work all day today? Anywhooo....thats life. I'll get through it. I may not sleep tonight but things always work out and im sure it will be as fabulous as Cinta always is :)

So happy Monday! Hopefully everyone is have a simply wonderful and not stressful day :)
