bbq envy

tonight i am hosting the first of im sure many bbq's to come this summer. i have worked hard to tidy up the backyard and dust of the good ole bbq but i must say I am having some bbq envy with all the cute outdoorsy furniture, bbqs, and other adorable outdoor living area accessories. It makes me dream about someday owning my own home with a yard i can do some amazing entertaining in. But for now I browse the isles of stores wishing i a. had the home and b. had the money. It's okay though. I make due with my mini backyard and strings of lights. :)

i have wanted a fire pit for years now.....maybe this summer i should make that happen

mammas bbq

well i failed at finishing my diy project i've been working on. To much cleaning last night and just not enough time to work on anything else. Hopefully i'll have that finished later this week.

anywhooo....this weekend i helped my mom out with a little casual bbq she was throwing for some friends. it was a perfectly sunny warm day and it was fun to be out in the sun. She had some great simple hors' d'oeuvres and great kabobs with yummy salads and pretty garden flowers. It turned out quite cute actually. Here are some pics!

i heart short weeks

Wow...its friday? Trust me I am SO OK with it being Friday but this week just flew by! Things were a little but hectic at work and I have a feeling things will be getting a lot more hectic for me..but I like it when I'm busy so I'm kind of excited! :)

The Little Things We Do!

1. My plans this summer include work, work and hey guess what!? More work…trying to make the best of my weekends and the great summer nights..i’m sure it won’t be too horrible working my summer away...

2. The best summer I ever had was hmm..the summers before I started working..when I could stay home and sleep in..layout and hangout with friends all day..yep those were the good old days.

3. Summer is bbqs, popsicles, summer drives, beach, ice cream, lake, passion tea lemonade.

4. My favorite summer food is hmm some good bbq chicken and bbq corn on the cob..berries..oo and apple pie ice cream!

5. The best way to quench a summer thirst is a great gin and tonic with lots of lime! This is also my go to drink every time of the year! but Mojitos are also a great summer drink

6. My summer uniform consists of skirts, and more skirts and this summer I’ve been way more into summer dresses..something nice and cool and cute of course!

7. The best thing about summer is it reminds you of the simple things in life, the beauty of the world around us, and bringing everyone together for those fun summer nights.
