For this edition of Wedding Wednesday I am dedicating it to balloons. Now don’t get me wrong I have never been the biggest fan of using balloons as décor, or a main aspect of a wedding. However, with the recent evolution of balloons and their massiveness and perfectly round shape they can have a fun place in a wedding. I absolutely love the look they can bring to pictures. And if used in the décor, they can also enhance the look without looking cheap and cheesy. So if you are thinking about using balloons there are a few key points to remember.

1. Shape. Perfectly round balloons are your safest bet.
2. Color. Please don’t choose random colors. There needs to be a point. a story.
3. Use and placement. Love balloons for picture purposes. Love balloons for a meaningful purpose. Love balloons that are meant to enhance the overall look.

Now on to the good stuff....

A fun yellow balloon engagement shoot!

An elegant approach to balloons. This was also a sentimental approach. Her grandmother was very close to her and passed away. The couple released the balloons before ceremony in honor of her grandmother. A beautiful way to remember someone.

A fun way to incorporate your guests! This was also the perfect way to use a shapped balloon. All the heart balloons floating up is quite the sight!

Another fun balloon picture!

Thanks to Once Wed, Style Me Pretty, and Brooklyn Bride for the great pictures!

Hope everyone has a simply wonderful Wednesday!

Tuesday To Do's

Everyone always has things they want to do and get done during the summer. With school out here on campus I figured it would be a good time to think about what i want to do around here this summer. So here are my to do's for the next 3 or 4 months.

1. Clean my garage again....this is my never ending project. I clean and re organize it constantly, then we have a dinner party and it all goes to crap again. I just need more space...I'm waiting for my big storage room with just rows of shelving for my party supplies :)

2. Go to the beach! I live 45 minutes from the beach. I have no excuse to not make a few day trips out there this summer. And seriously when are we going to rent a beach house?

3. Road trip. This one looks like it is already in the works. But it must happen! Cali here we come!

4. Camping. Time to get into the wilderness and enjoy nature. What better way then pitching a tent!

5. Country drives. I love my summer country drives. I need to make sure it happens more this summer. Nothing like the windows rolled down and the music blasting.

6. Get my laptop fixed. I've been laptop less for months and months...and although im in front of a computer all day at work its about time i'm able to skype and work on things at home.

7. More BBQ's in my backyard. I love summer nights and sitting outside enjoying everything. And with the recent mini makeover our yard got and our soon to be hammock it is going to be the perfect place to be.

8. Room makeover. I really have an itching to just re-do my room. I'm over the decor that i've had the last 4 or 5 years...time for something new and fresh...just gotta figure out that would be

9. Make a headboard....because now that i want to redo my room i've always wanted to make a headboard!

10. Explore portland more. I love portland and with a friend living right down town i have no excuse to become totally familiar with everything :)

I'm sure there are many more things I want to do and get done but we will see how many of these things I get done this summer. Anything you want to get done or do this summer?

Have a simply wonderful Tuesday!

a weekend of celebration

What a weekend! It was a busy and fun graduation weekend! Figured it would be more interesting to see things in picture form so heres what I did this weekend :)

planted flowers for the back yard...or more like my mom planted them for me..haha

Decorated for the Graduation Reception. I tried to just make things fun and almost kinda cheesy but with my touch as well..haha...turned out pretty cute.

My 2011 Graduates :) Mamma And is very proud! :) Love you all! :)

After the party everyone headed to a grad dinner party then headed to Jackos for cocktails. It was nice to relax and have everyone together. It was a great day and a great way to end a wonderful chapter for all the graduates this year.

Sunday the roomie and i headed to Eugene to take someone to the airport then spent the afternoon doing some errands. We ended our Eugene trip with a stop at Sweet Life. If you haven't been there, you need to make a stop! The desserts are AMAZING!!!!! It was sooooo good! A nice way to end the weekend.

Now it's time to be back at work..and sadly we have rain today so it doesn't even seem like summer. All well....Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Have a simply wonderful monday!

Friday, June 10, 2011

We did it! We made it to Friday! It will be a busy day at work but graduation is always exciting! But if it's Friday that means it's fill in the blank Friday! Everyone should link up at Lauren's blog!

1. This weekend I'm hosting a graduation reception after the ceremony…Panini bar! and hopefully getting to celebrate and relax after two very stressful weeks .

2. My last vacation was ... What are vacations??? Haven’t had a real vacation in years but last summer was filled with a few weekend trips .

3. My next vacation will be in a few months. I'm heading to Indonesia for 3 weeks at the end of the year! Kind of a vacation .

4. My favorite way to relax is home with a movie..or a quiet low key bar and a cocktail .

5. When vacationing one should always be ready for changes..nothing ever goes as planned and you should always keep your camera with you..never know what you might see .

6. When vacationing one should never care how many cocktails you’ve had..you’re on vacation!

7. The best part about a vacation is exploring someplace new and spending time with people you love!

Have a simply wonderful Friday!

Things we love on Thursday

Yay! We are finally almost through this week! One day closer to the weekend :) And trust me with all the craziness that has been going on the last couple weeks it’s nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But even with the non-stop schedule it has been a great couple weeks of different celebrations. For so many of my friends these are their last days here at OSU as a student. A big chapter is coming to a close, with new and big changes happening. It’s nice to just take a moment in all this hecticness and see everything that has been accomplished. We truly have all come quite far!
So for my first thing I’m loving today… my super amazing group of friends. (sorry if you aren't pictured :) i still love you)

That the sun finally came out to play!

That I got a super cool OSU sweatshirt for $7.

That my flower class is just over a week away!

Anyways..thats what im enjoying today :) Hope you all have a simply wonderful Thursday!

Wedding Time

Its Wedding Wednesday time. I know my obsession seems to be more about the look of weddings and how much i love the details and the celebration and so on. However, I am just as in love with the actual meaning and act of a wedding. I love a good ceremony, and a ceremony that is sentimental and made to fit the couple. The vows are always my favorite part :) The traditional vows have this historical meaning to them, and I always thought it was beautiful to be saying the words that have married so many people. However, hand written vows have the ability to touch the hearts of those who aren't even a fan of weddings. To hear the true love in the words of the bride and groom, and to see and feel exactly all they are feeling is absolutely touching. I always thought I would want the traditional vows, but I think there will be nothing more romantic and meaningful the hearing the true thoughts of my future husband. Sigh....okay...i'll stop being all sentimental now :)

On to the pretty things now.

How cute is this dessert display??! Chocolate Covered graham crackers hung by a clothes pin!?! I'm in love.

This is a great idea for a DIY photo booth! Grab your mac and have people take their pictures. The fun props are always a hit too!

cute engagement picture.

you know me and my long table obsession.

And yes, the dress is nice but LOOK AT THESE DOORS! love.

Happy Wednesday! Hope every one's day is simply amazing.

Tuesday Tantrums

Sometimes there are just things that get really annoying. Right? And I sure hope we don’t pull anything like this little girl but I know I am not the only one who feels this way. I’m sure we all have different things that annoy us but sometimes its just good to get it out there into the world and feel a little bit better. So here’s what’s annoying me today…

1. When people don’t take responsibility for their actions/ make excuses. Yes, the world will shit on you, but sometimes you can absolutely help the situation you are in. And if not there are ways you could be bettering the situation. I’m tired of people making excuses and reasons for their life being the way it is. Take responsibility, stop lying to yourself and move on with life. It’s all we can do.

2. When people don’t use their phone manners. Ugg..this one is so frustrating. Especially when I work in a professional office and its other “professionals”. Didn’t anyone ever teach you to say hello and goodbye? It’s really not that hard…

3. When people walk really slow through a cross walk when the hand has been flashing for awhile already. Haha..i know I know…a little ridiculous but seriously if you are going to walk across then couldn’t you pick of the pace a little?

4. When people say “you look really tired today”. Hmm… umm aka you look horrible today. Chances are I am well aware of how horrible I look that day and probably just wanna make it through the day. I don’t need someone telling me what I am already well aware of.

5. When I don’t have enough time to do everything I need to do. Even when I’ve planned and prepared and done as much as I can in a day. You sometimes just don’t have enough time in the day to do everything and it sometimes/ is always annoying. Pause button on life would be great.

Anyways... i'll stop with my tantrum and move on with life now..haha... sometimes people just gotta vent :) Hope everyone has a simply wonderful Tuesday.

Wait...its Monday??

Wow. umm hello and good bye weekend! I pretty much blinked and now its monday. Anyone else have a hectic weekend? It was a fun filled weekend but I do admit i'm glad its over. Friday nite we celebrated the 21st birthday of a friend! Always fun! Saturday i was up at 6am running errands and getting things ready for Matthew's recital on Sunday. We had a Graduation BBQ on Saturday afternoon, and i came home and started the baking marathon i had that carried into Sunday morning as well. Then sunday afternoon was set up time for the concert reception, followed by the concert, then the work of the reception. It all turned out great and sadly i don't have time to find all the pictures of the reception. but i promise pics will come! I'm really happy with how my dessert table turned out. Super cute!

This picture is kind of fitting for life at the moment..except im not eating the desserts im just making millions of them..haha

And as for today. Today i am finally focusing my attention to the dinner party for 37 people i have tomorrow night. Sigh...talk about a little bit stressful. I usually have the weekend before a dinner to really focus and get my ideas and thoughts in order but i have 24 hours to do it this time. And did i mention i work all day today? Anywhooo....thats life. I'll get through it. I may not sleep tonight but things always work out and im sure it will be as fabulous as Cinta always is :)

So happy Monday! Hopefully everyone is have a simply wonderful and not stressful day :)

Friday already?

Wow. for once i almost wish this week wouldn't have gone so fast. This has just been one of those weeks and this weekend is about to be one of those weekends. I just have to make it through and all will be okay. Anyways the good news is we finally get to see a sunny warm weekend!!!! wooo hoo!!! Hope everyone gets to be out and enjoy the sun! But for now here are this weeks blanks! :)

1. I love shopping because even if im not actually buying anything I love walking around and looking at all the pretty things. Love going to ikea and target and home stores because I can always get good inspiration for parties!

2. A time that mama knew best was when the world is latterly falling all around you and you don’t know how you are going to make it through she always has the words to say to make things better. Even if I don’t believe her she usually ends up being right. Life can be tricky but it does go on and we do make it through the rough parts .

3. My first kiss went a little like this awkwardly in the front of a car with the seat divider thing totally in the way…enough said…

4. My celebrity crush is ..hmm…ide have to say Ryan Reynolds bod is lookin pretty damn good these days..he looked pretty much amazing in the proposal and just seems so down to earth..

5. My splurge of choice is I love buying flowers for myself.. theres just something about coming home with fresh flowers and having them in the house that makes me super happy.

6. My biggest accomplishment is my business. I’ve always wanted my own business so when Cinta Dinners became official I was really excited. It’s been a great side job and something I truly love doing!

7. My dance jam of choice is ..ummm….i don’t think I have a favorite dance jam..is that weird..

Have a Simply wonderful Friday!

sometimes we just need a song

I am so sad! I was supposed to have a super cool guest post today but her pictures were not loading :( so we will have to post it next week! But for today ill just post a song i have on repeat. Im pretty much in love with Graham Colton...discovered him back in high school and im loving his music! And cannot wait to see him in portland with my bestie in a couple weeks! Check him out. For now here are some lyrics :)

Twenty Something
Graham Colton

i am no magician
i've got no crystal ball
but i have made a few things disappear
all my good intentions
are they ever good enough?
am i only running circles while i'm here?

and i've tried
but trying doesn't always get me there
and i'm fine
even when the way it's going isn't fair
halfway between somewhere and nothing
woke up and i'm twenty something

i'm no acrobat
but i've had my share of falls
i've been walking wires, and climbing up the walls
and i have kept my distance
just close enough to feel
but far enough away to know that what i know is real

and i've tried
but trying doesn't always get me there
and i'm fine
even when the way it's going isn't fair
halfway between somewhere and nothing
woke up and i'm twenty something

this is where it all begins
i'm giving up on giving in now
i'm not afraid of where i've been
halfway between somewhere and nothing
woke up and i'm twenty something

and i've tried
but trying doesn't always get me there
and i'm fine
even when the way it's going isn't fair
halfway between somewhere and nothing
woke up and i'm twenty something

Have a simply wonderful Thursday!
