tired

today i am just plain tired. actually i have been super tired all darn week. I just can't seem to get out of this tired funk. Usually I am one of those people who doesn't mind getting up when the alarm goes off but lately the snooze button and I have been good friends. Maybe it's because this weather has been miserable and getting out of my nice warm cozy bed seems like the worst idea ever. But I am not going to lie when i saw snow on the ground this morning I quickly checked the school website to see if there were going to be any delay's in hopes of an extra hour or two of sleep. Can't I just have a couple paid lazy days off to catch up on sleep and house work? Right now that just sounds like heaven.

Anyone else exhausted this week?
Hope you have a simply non-tired wonderful day.

Wedding Wednesday: Eugene Luxe Bridal Event

This last week was the 1st Eugene Luxe Bridal Show and with one my brides getting married in the Eugene area we decided to drive down to Eugene and check it out. And I'm not going to lie, I was quite impressed by the turnout. It definitely had more of an event feel to the whole thing. Music was playing, lights were dimmed and wine and food tastings were amazing. I was however disappointed with the amount of vendors who showed up. But because it was the first year I can only seeing this event grow as the years go on. I loved the bridal gown lounge and the bouquet display concepts but I think it could have been executed a little better. I think that the Portland version of this show would probably blow this one out of the water, just because there are so many unique vendors in Portland. I may need to treck up to Portland next week and check it out. But for now here are some snap shots of the Eugene show!

a fun colorful bouquet from the bouquet display
this bouquet would be perfect for a summer wedding

great displays from Parties to Go

The Bride with a fun drag queen making an appearance

Bride, her sister and bestie

A little fun in one of the rooms with a ballet bar and mirror

the wedding dress boutique had a decent amount of dresses to look at and try on

The Pearl Vodka station was giving a tasting of  Wedding Cake Vodka
it was one of our favorite stops :)

who wouldn't want to serve wedding cake vodka at their wedding?

it over all was a successful night with some great idea's and a lot of fun.
can't wait for Leah's Wedding! It's going to be stunning :)

Hope everyone has a simply fantastic Wedding Wednesday!

snap shots of my weekend

not going to lie. this weekend ended up being the perfectly lazy weekend i really needed. the last couple weeks have been a little crazy and when a couple of my weekend plans fell through i was almost relieved. Sometimes you just need a little down time and it is very nice to be up on a monday morning and not totally exhausted from the weekend. here are some snap shots of the couple things i did do this weekend.

had a delicious yumm bowl. im obsessed with these things!

indulged in this amazing $3.99 Chardonnay Pinot Grigio from Trader Joes. amazing.

watched the beavers mens basketball game at flat tail and actually almost drank a half a glass of beer!
major progress for me :)
also splurged on a yummy s'mores dessert
finally cleaned my room and got my jewelry hung back up in the proper places

and enjoyed my super clean room in the candle light.
not at a bad way to end the weekend.
not to bad of a weekend at all. of course wishing i had an extra day to really be productive but I guess there is always next weekend :)

Hope everyone has a simply fabulous monday!

Wedding Wednsday

This weeks post was originally supposed to be centered around flower girls. However, I found another super cute wedding film by Zach Boyce that I couldn't help but share. The wedding of Ed and Ruth is so completely adorable, cheerful and bright that you just can't help but smile when you look at the pictures or watch this film. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Check out more pictures from their big day over at 100 Layer Cake!

Hope you have a simply Cheerful Wedding Wednesday!

the year of change

change. who really actually loves change? well i guess some people truly do. But i like to know when change is going to happen. And I want to be the one making the changes. When life throws you those curve balls sometimes its hard to allow yourself to be okay with the situations you end up in, although this is life's favorite thing to do. and something you sometimes just can't avoid. but i do feel that change is right around the corner. and thankfully i am the one trying to make those changes.

I love this quote from (don't laugh at me) gossip girl "sometimes you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and where you wat to be." Honestly, this is something i try to do yearly. I try to evaluate if I am happy where I am at or if things need to change. Kind of a  time of reflection, a time to look back at the last year and try and figure out where I want to have my focus be in the next year. I know this seems like something I should have been writing about in January and I actually did take some time on my trip last month to write down 12 things for 2012 that I wanted to work on. And I am happy to report that some of those 12 things I listed are starting to take shape. I am ready for something new, I am ready for a new challenge and I honestly feel like is the year a lot of this is going to happen. It isn't going to be easy and somethings aren't taking shape as quickly as I would like them but I am trying to be patient.

Last April I wrote about how I was deciding to stay right where I was at. That for the next year I would keep doing what I was doing and see what opportunities might present themselves for the next year. And I'm not going to lie, last year was a year of more self discovery, a year of new friendships, and old ones coming to an end and a year with some hard lessons that needed to be learned. As usual everything happens for a reason. And since coming back from my trip I've had this immense feeling of happiness about my life. For the first time in awhile I feel like i'm making some progress in my long term goals and dreams and I am truly excited to see what happens this next year.

It's hard to sometimes see past the everyday life struggles but I keep trying to keep the end goal in sight.  I am blessed to know what I want to do and now it's time to put in the work and make things happen.

Sorry for random thoughts of my weird brain today.
Hope you have a simply thoughtful Tuesday.

Wedding Wednesday: Boudoir Shoots

warning: kind of a scandalous of a post today ;) but in the name of wedding wednesday's I must eventually talk about the boudoir shoots. the popularity of Boudoir shoots has grown immensely in the last few years. Women are embracing their sexuality and soon to be brides are finding these shoots and little black books the perfect pre-wedding gift to their man. Nothing like a little tease in the days leading up to your I-do's. Now, although these are growing in popularity there are most definitely the provocative bordering tacky boudoir shoots or the extremely classy almost artsy shoots. I'm sure you can already guess that I would suggest the classy, artsy route. These are pictures that you want to look back at when you are old and grey and still love, not be something you regret. You want to look back and feel like the pictures you took were classic and timeless..exactly like your wedding pictures. Thanks to pinterest I've been keeping track of some of my favorites to share. Feel free to check out my bored for the original sources!

i absolutely adore this picture. the essence of class and sexiness all at the same time.

sexy silhouette

hello legs

another stunning picture.
fun accessories
beauty at any size and one stunning corset
heart the bow
there are so many directions you can go with these shoots but most of all they should make you feel absolutely beautiful, stunning, and sexy. Pick the right looks for you and don't try to be something you aren't. These shoots should empower you and bring out that confident sexy women that is in all of us. And most of all have fun! don't stress yourself out over these shoots. The photographer is there to make you look your best and trust me if you have a good one they will. Do your research and be willing to pay for quality because lets be honest this is not the kind of photo shoot you want an amateur running.

Hope you have a simply sexy wedding wednesday!
