weekends adventures

weekends are a time for adventure. what is my idea of adventure? going to an antique flea market, getting local amazing ice cream, and cleaning my garage. edge of your seat kinda stuff huh? and in every spare crack of time i was focused on the wedding. regardless it was a great weekend. I was able to have a little fun and get a lot done. but in usual weekend fashion its never enough time to mark everything off my list. but i do feel a lot more prepared and organized for the month ahead of me. Here are some snapshots of my "adventurous" weekend.

the mrs collins hanger came in! how adorable right?!
The Barn House antique and flea market was heaven on earth!

loved these pendent lights and who wasn't in love with the amazing arrow sign!?

also loved these wire cones with moss in them...wedding inspiration for sure!

after the show we were in need of some cooling off. what better way then with a trip to
Salt & Straw!? Worth the wait around the block
i settled for the classic salted carmel and lavender blueberry sorbet. to. die. for.
the rest of my weekend was full of errands and spending over 4 hours  organizing my beloved garage.
And here we are back at monday again. My week is jam packed of dinner prep and testing!

Hope everyone has a simply great monday!

extra thankful

Every once in awhile i have these moments where i just feel so content in what I am doing. Usually those moments happen when I am planning an event or entertaining. Things always just seem so right in those moments and I sincerely love what I am doing. Yesterday I had a retirement reception, and although I felt off my game and a little behind and secretly crossing my fingers everything would go well I enjoyed every second of the stress and hecticness. I think deep down I knew it would work out. It always does. But there is nothing like the feeling I get when I see everything come together and I step back and look at what has just been created. We always joke that with every event it's like I am moving. The containers line my living room and the dining room table becomes Cinta Events head corders. The early mornings and late nights of prep. But it is always worth it. Always.

I am so blessed that I am able to hold a full time job as well as work at what I love on the side. So today I am extra thankful. Thankful that I am not only able to have a job to pay the bills but also able to work on my ultimate passion. what more could I want.

Here are a couple instagram pictures from the reception yesterday. I was to busy to really take anything more then the basics. And forgive all of my iphone pictures lately. My camera is broken for good and I am in attempts to invest in another one.

there was a request for sugar free desserts.
above are sugar free coconut cake balls drizzled in dark chocolate

strawberry bruschetta

it was requested that things be pretty basic...fruit, veggies, cheeses.
attempted to add a little pizzaz to make basics look a little more interesting

Hope everyone has a simply thankful thursday.

exhausted...

for some reason i am just exhausted and the week has barely even begun. i thought for the most part i had a somewhat low key weekend but apparently not low key enough. I have 4 events/ dinners in the next month and the menus, details, decor elements, and flowers for all of them are swirling around in my brain. and to top it off i woke up yesterday with a sore throat and sniffles. needless to say i am downing the water and even took some dayquil in hopes to rid myself of getting any sicker. i literally just do not have time to be sick. period. any-who....enough of my rant...here is some of the fun from the weekend!

had some bod ball fun

had some bbq and dancing fun (not really sure why we felt the need to squint)
made and delivered a birthday flower arrangement
spent some time at my favorite rental store....are these not adorable? they are going to be perfect for the wedding im doing next month.

chalkboarded everything i could get my hands on
paid a little visit to my mamma and her mini garden

made 4 different types of cold soup for my beautiful bride to test
(i know...cold soup? it was good, i promise)
hope everyone has a simply wonderful monday!

picnic perfection

this weekend was perfection. my roomie and i had been planning to have the parents down for some bbq fun for awhile and finally were able to do that this weekend! however before we barbecued and the rest of the parents arived we made a little trip to Airlie Winery just outside of Corvallis with my roomies parents. Thankfully Saturday was a perfect mix of warm and breezy. It made for perfect winery/ picnic weather. I loaded up my Grandmothers old picnic basket with pesto chicken ceaser wraps, pasta salad, and some yummy cherry, strawberry, mint limeade and headed out. We set up our little picnic and tasted some amazing wines all afternoon long. The setting was absolute perfection. I couldn't have asked for a better afternoon and a better way to start off our parent weekend.

picture perfect huh?!

unfortunately i failed at taking pictures of our little bbq and karaoke adventures but over all it was a fantastic weekend. sadly we are back at monday and its time to get back to work.

Hope everyone has a simply productive monday!

More Than Fine

I recently stumbled across an article on a blog that i just loved. Everyday Isa had a post dedicated to her good friend who had just broken up with someone. She had struggled, like many of us, to find the words to help comfort her. Even though we all have gone through many different forms of heartbreak it is so hard to find the right words to tell the ones closest to us. She had told her friend that she would be fine but after thinking about it she had more to say. This post puts into words perfectly what we wish we would have said during someones break up. Sometimes we need the hard truth and someone to really be honest with us. I would encourage all you ladies to go read it

Hope everyone has a simply wonderful weekend!

Red, White and Blue

anyone else slightly saddened with the fact that the 4th of July fell on a Wednesday this year? Why smack dab in the middle of a work week? Regardless I am not complaining any more. It is a day off and a day to celebrate the amazing country we call home. I do love this holiday. I feel like I may love it more when I am married with kids and can throw big 4th of July BBQ's and have the house decked out in red, white, and blue. :) For now here some fun red, white and blue inspiration that get me all giddy about the holiday :)

Happy Independence Day Everyone!
